Softwood from local woodlands, in-stock or sawn to order
We collect and mill softwood from local, sustainably managed woodlands in the Dartington, Totnes, Buckfastleigh and South Dartmoor area. We have a variety of pre-cut sizes ready for collection, or we can source local softwood and custom cut to the size required. Our most abundant local softwoods in the Dart Valley are larch, Douglas fir, western red cedar and spruce. We often supply softwood for construction, scaffold boards, timber cladding, timber framing and landscaping projects.
Durable, high quality local softwood for…
-
Timber Cladding
We make cladding from local, durable softwood, which can be used as a vertical or horizontal rain screen. We also mill traditional cladding patterns such as feather edge, board and cover, and waney edge, in thicknesses and lengths to suit your project.
-
Flooring and Panelling
Well managed, local timber is a durable and sustainable product. We saw and stock air-dried local Douglas fir, larch, western red cedar, sequoia, Scots pine and spruce boards suitable for flooring, panelling and sarking.

Framing and Construction
We saw local timber for carcassing; stud work, joists and rafters in larch and Douglas fir, or larger timber framing structural beams. Timber for framing and construction can be cut to order and there’s a stock of standard sizes on the shelf.
